If I were Ash Ketchum (My Reply to MysticUmbreon's video)

After watching MysticUmbreon(who I religiously watched when I was still in Pokemon, his voice is amazing), I found his video on how he'd change things if he took the role of Ash Ketchum, the protagonist. Here is my take on what I'd do if somehow I became an isekai who swapped bodies with Ash. (And man would I enjoy giving my crappy 48-year old body with no teeth to Ash! XD) When Oak offers me a Pikachu, I'd back away and say "Oak, you touch that guy." If he did so, like the idiot he was, I'd threaten to sue him if he didn't pull some connections to get me another Charmander. The threat of becoming a pauper as punishment for child abuse would get him going and he'd probably let me choose any Pokemon I wanted, so I'd pick a Jigglypuff as my starter because they are so cute. ^_^ Because I had an obedient Jigglypuff as my starter instead of a feral Pikachu, we'd never run into the Spearows and never meet Misty. If she did meet us in the Viridian ...

I don't know what to say.

So everyone was hyped about Pokemon Presents #2 after all of the stuff revealed in #1 - the two mobile apps, the Pokemon GO Updates, the Crown Tundra info, and even a sequel to Pokemon Snap, and they said there would be another Pokemon announcement... And it was only 11 minutes of... Yep, just a Pokemon Multi-Open Battle Arena with Pokemon on the label. :( I'm not trying to judge Game Freak. After all, they did reveal Pokemon Smile(which is basically a bribe mechanic to get little kids to brush their teeth properly) and Pokemon Cafe Mix(a puzzle game with micro transactions) but wasting the entire second Pokemon reveal to reveal a Pokemon MOBA just created rioting in the streets. I'm not saying MOBAs are evil - look at how popular League of Legends is! However, spending all your time talking about you new Pokemon MOBA is not how I would spend my time. Worse, they said nothing about any new games or followed up on any of the old announcements. I know that they just announced the...

I said I was going to shiny hunt... but I lied.

I deleted my save on Shield and downloaded Pokemon Sword because that was the game I wanted to start with. I just got eager to play Shield because of its exclusive... but that's a moot point. I decide to show off my highlights of my avatar, C.J., in Pokemon Sword. (Named after my nickname.) I completed decimated Milo with a Gigantimax Butterfree which I caught. It was a 1-star raid so I was surprised to catch it. On the other hand, I failed to snag a Gigantimax Sandicobra, which had a better catch rate. It was 3-stars, though, so I am not angry. I know the Gigantimax forms have a worse catch rate due to their power, so it's not a stink in the coffee for me. I later caught the event Gigantimax Drednaw at a 2-star raid. Yeah, the Max Raids were dragging me into a spiral of decadence. LOLZ. Speaking of Drednaw, Milo gave me the weapon to kill Nessa's Drednaw with, and I used a Gardevoir(which I ditched later) to get the win. I had a Toxiticity ...

New stuff I learned before I started to play Pokemon Shield, thanks to Austin John

The Starters are shiny-locked so we'll have to get Shiny Starters from DLC or events like we did with Shiny Lunala. (I never liked Shiny Lunala anyways, she looked like a pile of sick.) Don't know if you can soft reset for IVs or if they are always just the same IVs no matter how many times you soft-reset to discourage you from save-scumming. Shiny Pokemon won't appear like they did in Let's Go, you have to fight them to see if they are shiny like in the regular games, which is good because I like the surprise. You will be able to toss your old Pokemon for better evolved forms of the same thing with better stats in later areas. This was a common thing in all Pokemon games but these games strongly discourage grinding and EV training and want you to GET ON WITH STORY! Tech Machines which you can use over and over again are joined by Tech Readouts, which are TMs that follow the old-school one-use-only creed but have insanely powerful moves. It's unknown whether you...

New Quest!

This blog is no longer a blog for trophy hunting, but for Shiny Hunting! With Pokemon Sword and Shield out as of this writing(at least in some places), I  was isnpired by AbsolBlogsPokemon's shiny quests for Pokemon Let's Go and Pokemon Ultra Sun and decided to do the same thing for my first playthrough of Pokemon Shield. Fame Greek decided to cold-clock us and shiny-lock the starters so they don't have shiny forms, but I wanted to try my best to get a great team of alternate-colored Pokemon. Wish me luck!
